otd coordinator -- check!

mood:

huwahooooo!

i met with impromptu this evening, and everything went so well. they're quite a young group, both in age and professionally. they've only been in the coordinating biz since last year, but they seem really great. it helps that several w@wies have availed of their services and gave good reviews.

we talked for quite a bit, with me asking "fishing" questions every now and then so i see how they would react. what i loved about our meeting was that it was very casual, but professional at the right moments. when we finally decided to get an otd coord, i wanted someone i can make chika with, but at the same time, has enough brains to pull off coordinating my wedding. this group seems to have what i need, and i'm so happy.

after exchanging stories and ideas, i booked them right then and there. haayyyy, it feels so great to have accomplished this at last. now i know that all i need to think about on my wedding day is to smile and be happy!

oh, and i also have my "something borrowed" for the wedding. tita beta, ella's mom, had dinner with us last sunday and she let me borrow these chandelier earrings with diamonds. weeeeeee!

you see, tita beta has been selling jewelry since as far back as i can remember. she was kind enough to also give me her contact person who also does custom made jewelry. since schmuck and i plan to scout for our weddings rings by next month, that should really come in handy.

speaking of jewelry, i always pictured that schmuck and i would wear identical rings. of course, i wanted diamonds on the ring. however, this fiance of mine wants his ring to be a plain band lang. *sigh* men talaga!

well, that's ok then. schmuck agreed that he gets the plain band, and i get the stones. that's perfectly fine with me. hehehe! at least now, i get to have bigger diamonds on my ring. ngyahahaha!

i tell you, women and diamonds....

i have another trial makeup set on feb 7. the hmua is lito (sorry, but i still don't know his last name), and he's really great! i remember that i attended the wedding of one of my officemates several years back, and i loved her makeup. it was so natural, but the bride looked sooo radiant!

after that, several of our other officemates have also gotten lito to do their makeup, and they all turned out as lovely brides. i'm hoping he can do the same magic with me. remember, i'm going for the "virginal bride" look. hee! lito actually works in one of the very popular salons, but i'm booking him on the sly...if you know what i mean. hehe! if i book him through the salon, it will cost me an arm and a leg!

i have yet to set an appointment with barbi chan. i texted her last week, and she's still free on my wedding date. i'd better have my trial soon. i know she gets booked pretty fast.

i was fixing our guest list last night, and i'm getting quite alarmed. our number is already at 290+, and i know that when the wedding is getting nearer, the count has a tendency to climb. yikes! given the 15% normal buffer though (for rsvp), that will bring my guest count to about 250.

schmuck and i have to stop making new friends effective immediately...hehehe!

*****

after fixing our guest list, i pretty much had an idea on how many invites we need to order. it looks like 150 is the magic number. that already gives me a buffer for possible add-ons to our guest list (which i'm praying doesn't happen...).

i also called QP in southmall today to check if it's possible to order there instead, even if my quotation is from QP greenbelt. the lady said that was no problem, as long as i bring the quotation. buti na lang! i didn't want to go back to makati anymore. i do not miss the traffic there.

we're scheduled to have our canonical interview on feb 1. that's next week already. nyar!

what happens during the canonical interview anyway? do we need to study for it? gosh, what if the priest asks me about something religious and i don't know the answer? will that be grounds for us not to marry?!?!

yeah, yeah, i know. stupid thoughts, right? but give me a break here. i'm a first time bride, you know. haha!

why The Schmucks?

- We've decided to revolutionize the term. It's now a term of endearment. Before Roland & Tin became "Roland & Tin," we were very good friends with a dysfunctional sense of humor. I called him a schmuck, he called me a schmuck. Thus, The Schmucks were born. Now we're on our way to becoming Mr. & Mrs. Schmuck. Ain't life grand? -
